Designed with Police forces in mind, although not limited to the Police, this glove is Spectra lined giving level 5 protection.

Manufactured from 100% Polyster softshell Black the palm is made using synthetic leather Amara which is reinforced with genuine cowhide with a foam lining.

The wriststrap is elasticated and has the "Police" logo embossed with a Velcro closer.

The thumb and forefinger on each hand include Touchscreen material enabling the use of a phone whilst still wearing the gloves.

These gloves have been tested to EN388: 2003 by an independent UK

laboratory and achieved the following results:

  • Abrasion resistance:  Level 4
  • Blade cut resistance:  Level 5
  • Tear resistance:  Level 4
  • Puncture resistance:  Level 2

Level 5 is the highest level achievable.

Spectra fibre is one of the worlds strongest and lightest fabrics. Manufactured by Honeywell it is pound for pound 15 times stronger than steel and is cut and stretch resistant and has been used by military and law enforcement agencies for over 2 decades. Spectra is highly resistant to chemicals, water and ultra-violet light.

DUPONT KEVLAR® FACTS!

1. How strong is Kevlar?

It's strong but relatively light. The specific tensile strength (stretching or pulling strength) of both Kevlar 29 and Kevlar 49 is over eight times greater than that of steel wire. Unlike most plastics it does not melt: it's reasonably good at withstanding temperatures and decomposes only at about 450°C (850°F) - https://www.explainthatstuff.com/kevlar.html

2. What is Kevlar and what is it used for?

Kevlar has many applications, ranging from bicycle tires and racing sails to bulletproof vests, because of its high tensile strength-to-weight ratio; by this measure it is 5 times stronger than steel. It is also used to make modern drumheads that withstand high impact. Reference - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kevlar

3. Who uses it?

Dupont™ Kevlar® clothing have been in circulation for over twenty years and is used by police and security professionals to give them that extra bit of safety and confidence that enables them to tackle difficult, and sometimes dangerous situations. Reference - Bladerunner.tv
