Titan Depot's slash and cut resistant clothing contains a concealed lining of DuPont™ Kevlar® or Dyneema® fibre — engineered to force a blade to deflect rather than cut through to the skin. Every garment looks exactly like standard everyday clothing: hoodies, T-shirts, trousers, scarves and gloves that are completely indistinguishable from non-protective versions.
Our range is worn by security guards, NHS workers, lone workers, retail staff, prison officers and parents who want discreet protection for their children. All garments are independently lab-tested. Standard garments carry EN388 Level 2 cut resistance; protective gloves carry Level 5.
Not sure which garment is right for you? Read our complete slash resistant clothing buying guide — covering EN388 levels, Kevlar vs Dyneema, garment types, and how to choose by threat and role.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is slash resistant clothing?
Slash resistant clothing contains a concealed lining of cut-resistant fibres (Kevlar or Dyneema) that force a blade to deflect when drawn across the fabric. It looks identical to normal everyday clothing — hoodies, T-shirts, trousers and scarves — with no visible indication of protection.
Is slash resistant clothing legal in the UK?
Yes. Slash resistant clothing is completely legal to buy, own and wear in the UK. No licence, permit or authorisation is required. It is available to any adult without restriction.
What is the difference between slash resistant and stab proof?
Slash resistant clothing protects against a blade being drawn sideways across the body — the most common knife injury. Stab-proof body armour protects against a blade being driven point-first into the body. These are different threat types. Some body armour vests combine both protections.
Who needs slash resistant clothing?
Security guards and door supervisors, NHS and mental health workers, lone workers (housing officers, social workers, delivery drivers), retail and hospitality staff, prison officers, and parents wanting protection for children in high knife crime areas.
Will slash resistant clothing stop a stab?
No. Slash resistant clothing is designed for slashing attacks — a blade drawn across the skin. It is not rated or tested for direct stabbing attacks (a blade thrust point-first). For stab protection, a KR1-rated body armour vest is required.
How do I choose the right garment?
Consider: (1) the threat type — slashing or stabbing; (2) the environment — do you need to appear approachable; (3) the body areas to protect — hoodies and T-shirts cover torso and arms, trousers protect legs, scarves protect the neck. Contact us if unsure.
