Frequently Asked Questions
What cut resistance level do the gloves offer?
All Titan Depot protective gloves carry EN388 Level 4 cut resistance - the highest rating available under the EN388 standard. This is significantly higher than our slash resistant garments (Level 2) because hands and fingers are the most commonly injured body part in knife attacks and need maximum protection.
Do the gloves offer bite protection?
Yes. Our protective gloves have been tested by an authorised UK laboratory and achieved Level 2 for puncture and bite resistance under EN388 standards. Level 2 puncture resistance means the gloves can withstand the force of a human or animal bite - making them an essential piece of kit for door supervisors, security staff, dog handlers, mental health workers, and anyone working in environments where biting is a risk.
Can I still grip and use my hands normally while wearing them?
Yes. Our gloves are designed for full dexterity - you can grip, hold, write, and operate equipment while wearing them. The cut-resistant lining is thin and flexible, not bulky. They are widely used by NHS staff, security professionals, and lone workers who need protection without sacrificing hand function.
Are they machine washable?
Yes. Our cut-resistant gloves are machine washable at 30°C on a gentle cycle. Air dry after washing. Do not tumble dry at high heat as this can degrade the protective fibres over time. Full care instructions are included with each pair.
Who should wear cut-resistant gloves?
Security guards and door supervisors, NHS and emergency workers handling sharps, lone workers in high-risk environments, police and prison officers, kitchen and food preparation staff, retail staff handling box cutters or glass, and anyone who wants hand protection against blades or broken glass in everyday life.
What is the difference between Kevlar and Dyneema gloves?
Both Kevlar and Dyneema provide Level 4 cut resistance. Kevlar is heat resistant as well as cut resistant, making it suitable for roles involving both blade and heat threats. Dyneema is lighter and more flexible, offering a closer fit and greater comfort for extended wear. Both are independently tested to EN388 and provide equivalent cut protection for everyday use.
